The 5th Annual Healthy Vision Week kicks-off on October 8. The Northern Plains Eye Foundation has organized this screening week during past years with the assistance of eye care professionals in the Black Hills and Pierre, SouthDakota.
The Black Hills Regional Eye Institute is one of forty-two eye care facilities providing free vision screenings for children ages 3 to 11. An appointment is required for a screening and a complete list of those participating can be found at www.npef.org or by calling the Northern Plains Eye Foundation at 605-716-6733.
The screenings are very basic, but will help to detect any vision problems a child might have that needs further attention.
The Eye Institute no longer has appointments available for the vision screenings, but encourages you to contact the Eye Foundation for other providers in the area.
